Works Great! Okay, I went to the store to buy another brands spot scrubber...but they had none in stock and this was my option and I was just too rushed to go to another store. I got home and looked this one up to see what others had said before I even opened the box...because at this point I was disappointed in myself for not getting the one that I had researched and had wanted. There were two reviews here, one good and one bad. So I figured I should write a review also. This little thing is great! Its so small and light and NO CORD...to those who are looking for a carpet cleaner...this is not it, its a spot cleaner...get something large...but be warned...it is in your best interest to empty the water from ANY carpet cleaner after using it..large, small, van sized...carpet cleaner waste water gets more rancid than a port-a-potty on the 4th of July in the south...so the changing the water complaint...i just dont get...and any cleaner must be emptied and refilled often...both the waste water and clean water holders came off and back on easily. just read the directions. my only complaint is that the brush itself does not move or go in circles, its just still. But I used it today on my steps after charging it like the directions said...and it worked great. I have a big carpet cleaner...i hate pulling it out for little things and frankly its heavy and an pain to lug up the steps...i have very little carpet left in my house...just the steps, a bedroom and 2 walk in closets...this thing fits my needs perfectly. Its not like your purchasing a 400$ machine...its 40$...and it works great.
Excellent vacuum for the money I originally purchased a Bissell Cleanview Powertrak for my elderly parents because of the dirt sensor light which I thought would be helpful to them because of their vision problems. I was not prepared for the sheer quantity of dirt, dust and fiber it picks up in a house that is regularly cleaned and sees very little traffic. So I bought the Revolution for my house, which has a ton of traffic plus pets, females with long hair and messy gardeners. On first use, I was appalled by the amount of crud it picked up on what I considered a clean carpet (in contradiction of an earlier reviewer, particularly pet hair).
Some observations:
1. It has 3 filters that have to be periodically checked and cleaned (it has an air flow indicator which alerts you that the filters need attention). If you have a large home, you may have to dump the dirt cup a few times, especially if you have natural fiber carpeting (e.g., wool) or multiple pets.
2. There is no way to disengage the rotating brush, so if you have fringed area rugs, you may want to consider something else.
3. It is made of lightweight plastic, but it's not particularly light. Still, it's manageable up a flight of 13 narrow stairs with one hand.
4. It is relatively loud.
5. You have to bend over to change the height settings for different carpet/bare floor settings. It does a remarkably good job on bare floor.
6. The attachments are handy and easy to use. The Turbo Brush does an admirable job on carpeted stairs.
7. The dirt sensor is an unconditionally wonderful thing.
So, bottom-line, if you are a reasonably healthy adult, able to lift and bend, don't have noise-sensitive neighbors, live in an average-sized space, don't have a lot of fancy fringed area rugs or breed Himalayans, and want an excellent, inexpensive vacuum, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this one.
Great vacuum When it came time for me to buy a vacuum cleaner, there was no question as to which brand I should buy. You buy an Electrolux vacuum once, and you have it for life - maybe longer. I'm not going to inherit my grandparents Electrolux anytime soon, or my parents, so I had to buy my own. That said, I guess I will need to take it into consideration when I write my will. This new Electrolux continues the quality of previous models, with a few improvements. It's much lighter, and quieter, but, amazingly, just as powerful. You can actually carry it around as you vacuum, if you so desire, it is light enough. The only downside is that I will never have the opportunity or need to buy another vacuum again.
Buy This Vacuum! I read Consumer Reports and the MANY reviews on Amazon before I made my purchase, and I just have to say: I love this vacuum! I have long hair and 2 pets, so I know what its like to need a good vacuum. This one sucks up everything on my hardwood and tile floors and on the carpet. The attachments' suction is also incredibly strong- love it for couches and carpeted stairs. And you can't beat the price, but mind you, I was so in need of a good vacuum, I was willing to pay $500-600 for a Dyson till I started researching vacuums. And: its NOT too loud. :)
From a happy owner We have one cat. He does not shed much, I believe
but my mother thinks he shed too much.
Our 16 years old Eureka cleaner sucked dusts but not
fine cat hair or human hair.
So I needed one strong vaccum cleaner that sucks up
all the loosen fur on carpet.
I spent quite big sum of money on Dyson 14 Animal.
It sucked up huge chunk of cat fur, my hair,
my mother's hair, powdery dust and even some kind of
worms squirming in clear dust bin.(Ewww!!!)
After seeing those, my mother has not complained
as much about cat fur.(Yeah~)
I am very happy with this machine.
The only reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is
since it's refurbished, it did not look 'brand-new'.
I know some people get spick and spand shiny one
but I didn't.
Mine looked definately used.-about 6 months used.
It works great but looks used.
So I give 4 stars.
